If you‘re a movie freak like me (and for the time being, let’s restrict ourselves to English movies), you‘ll often be facing a situation where you want to know which Hollywood flicks you are yet to catch up on. Or otherwise, you just came across a movie and you want to explore a bit about it (say, the star cast, the genre, a synopsis etc.) before you go ahead and grab a copy of it.
Though a quick search on the movie title would often give you a pretty good overview (often scattered along various websites which you have to scan in succession), nothing can probably match the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) on www.imdb.com
The best things to watch out are the all time best 250 films section (No downloads! Only movie information). And when you are done with all 250 of them, you can see the rating of any movie you want to know about. The database is extensive and covers almost all movie titles that have been released till date.
My recommendation for the movie ratings are:
6 or below : Poor. Doesn’t deserve your time.
6 – 7 : Mediocre, go for it if there’s nothing else to do.
7 – 8 : Definitely worth a watch.
8 – 9 : Must watch.
9+ : What! You haven’t seen it yet?
So where to download the movies from? Sorry, I would rather not get into that in too much detail. It definitely hurts to realize that online piracy costs the global film industry thousands of millions of dollars every year. (How? People watch a film by downloading a copy off the internet or by purchasing cheap duplicate CD/DVD’s. Movie producers do not earn any revenue when a movie reaches you through this channel. Imagine putting in stellar amounts of time, effort and money in a production and still not getting paid to entertain your audiences! How unfair is that?) However, you can try searching your favorite titles on the torrent network. Be careful however, that your actions may be violating copyright laws, and hence become illegal.

THAnks for the information. I wud go to Yahoo movies’ latest Reviews to decide upon the next DVD.THat too is good as you can watch trailers online as well as viewers’ comments on a particular movie. But you know the search wud be upside down, I wud read about some movie and then begin searching.
